According to this, major labels will be abandoning the CD-format by the end of 2012 and replacing them with downloads/streams via iTunes and other music services. The only CD-formats that will be left over will be the limited edition ones, which will not be available for every artist.

Nerding out to some tunes
I’m sifting through all of my music released in 2011 and so far Defeater’s new full-length is easily my favorite. Some of the most emotional and melodic hardcore I’ve heard in a long time. Bayside’s “Killing Time” is a close second, even if its just a beefed up version of the Bayside we all know and love.
